Visa advisory by German embassy to counter delays

An travel advisory has been issued by the German embassy to Qatari citizens and expatriate residents to schedule their itinerary and visa application to avoid delays for processing of entry permits to Schengen countries during peak time.

 

 

Visa application is preferred three months in advance to the date of planned departure for travellers to Germany, Austria, Finland, Norway and Slovenia.For the issuance of Schengen visa, Germany represents Austria, Finland, Norway and Slovenia.

 

 

In a press statement, the embassy said prospective travellers to Germany and Austria, Finland, Norway and Slovenia are recommended to prepare their visa applications as early as three months prior to planned departure date at the German Visa Application Centre operated by VFS Global.

 

A spokesperson for the German embassy said that the embassy processes Schengen visa promptly  within a maximum period of 15 days. But the travellers should be prepared that an increase in the number of applicants during the peak time has an impact on the procedure.

 

The spokesperson further added they will prepare application forms and suppotinmg documents in line with the requirements as listed on the official website. They should also ensure of adhering to the checklists of different visa types.

 

 

 

It was also recommended to avoid the use of service providers for visa application and supporting documents.
