Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Ryanair of a new flight from East Midlands to Shannon, due to launch in April 2019. The new service will operate twice weekly until the end of October, helping to boost tourism to the Wild Atlantic Way from the all-important British market.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Today’s announcement is more good news for Irish tourism as we prepare for 2019, offering more choice for British holidaymakers who wish to visit Ireland and bringing them to the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way. We work very closely with Ryanair and Shannon Airport and we look forward to co-operating with them to maximise the promotion of this new flight from East Midlands. As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism.”
